Scrub Island Resort

When we partnered with Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, the objective was clear: create an unforgettable incentive program for top sales performers that reflected both the destination’s beauty and the client’s high expectations for creativity, exclusivity, and flawless execution.

The event would be the resort’s first full property buyout, requiring extensive coordination between our team, the resort team, and local partners to ensure a premium, one-of-a-kind experience for every guest.

Challenges: Navigating Gaps in Local Infrastructure & Vendor Limitations

While Scrub Island provided a stunning backdrop, executing a world-class event there came with challenges:

  • Inexperienced Local DMC Support: Due to the resort location. Because of the resort’s remote location, available Destination Management Companies (DMCs) were not well-versed in luxury incentive execution. As a result, recommendations leaned toward standard cruise excursions rather than bespoke experiences.
  • Limited Local Resources: Both the property team and nearby vendors had minimal exposure to full-resort buyouts and complex, group activations, which introduced additional coordination needs onsite.
  • High Expectations for Curated, Elevated Experiences: The client envisioned a dynamic program–unique elements, catamarans, private island outings, and custom excursions– that couldn’t be easily sourced through traditional local channels.

Our team recognized the need to step in as a strategic partner, bridging gaps and ensuring the client’s vision came to life without compromise.

Solution: Acting as Strategic Advisor and On-the-Ground Partner

We took an advisory-led, hands-on approach acting as both event manager and DMC consultant to ensure every detail was intentional, high-touch, and on-brand.

By leveraging trusted relationships and creative problem-solving, the team transformed logistical obstacles into opportunities for innovation. From vendor sourcing to on-site execution, every detail reflected a deep understanding of the client’s goals and the local environment.

  • Reimagined the DMC Model: Partnered with trusted Virgin Islands-based vendors to curate unique experiences beyond traditional offerings like a private catamaran day, complete with a buyout of Hendo’s Hideout, local DJ, and open access at the iconic Soggy Dollar Bar.

Created Signature Destination Experiences:
Developed immersive, authentic programs including:

  • A rum history tour through the British Virgin Islands
  • Pedal biking and shopping excursions through local towns
  • Fun in the Sun Day featuring private speedboat tours, island hopping, and a lobster beach lunch
  • Spa and leisure activations for relaxation and wellness

On-Site Advisory and Coordination: Collaborated and educated the resort’s sales and operations teams to elevate service delivery and event flow. We provided guidance on site layouts, rain plans, and the creative use of venues, helping the property envision new possibilities for future group events.
