Thinking Outside the “Docks”: Creative Culinary Solution Saves Franchise Convention

Client: Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW)

105%

Sponsorship goal exceeded

Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW), founded in 1982, is the largest sports bar brand in the United States. Globally, there are more than 1,200 restaurants in 10 countries. Buffalo Wild Wings is part of the Inspire Brands family of restaurants.

Objective: A highlight of any QSR franchise conference is the introduction of exciting new menu items – and BWW’s 2021 Worldwide Convention was no exception. BWW sought to introduce and gain excitement among its franchise owners for one new culinary menu item, one new snack, and three new sauces. But, to provide samples to the conference attendees, they needed hot and fresh products readily available. With no accessible kitchen to produce these items, they looked to Etherio to serve up a solution to this challenge.

Solution: Without the use of an accessible kitchen, Etherio got creative, partnering with equipment and culinary teams to build a full, working kitchen on the docks and to repurpose a hotel kitchen. With these innovative changes, the culinary showcase experience was a smashing success.

We also partnered with 44 different alcohol vendors and provided the special attention required to meet all the regulations for alcohol sampling – while delivering sponsorship value to these partners. As America’s leading sports bar, we also ensured that BWW’s sponsorship and alcohol samples adhered to all legal rules and regulations.

Results:
Solved kitchen crisis with unique solution
Over 1,000 attendees enjoyed hot and fresh samples
Exceeded sponsorship goal at 105%
