Landis+Gyr serves as a global leader with a mission to help the world manage energy better. In partnership with utility consumers and partners around the world, Landis+Gyr is shaping the future of energy through sustainable solutions and industry-leading technology.

Objective: Exchange is an industry-leading annual user conference hosted by Landis+Gyr, providing the opportunity for the Landis+Gyr community to come together for knowledge sharing, networking, and product demonstrations. Typically hosted in person, they faced the challenge of shifting their in-person event to a virtual format in 2021 due to the pandemic. Landis+Gyr set a target goal of 1,000 attendees to connect customers, peers, partners, and industry experts and explore new energy management solutions. Their objective was to create an engaging virtual environment that delivered innovative and in-depth content focused on all the important aspects of their successful live events from hosting one-on-one subject matter expert discussions, to engaging networking activities, educational and inspiring keynotes and breakout sessions, and product demonstrations.

Solution: To meet Landis+Gyr’s objective, our team executed a comprehensive virtual event strategy. We partnered with technology experts Thomas Cook and Tecogis to craft a fully branded platform replicating the in-person experience. The Exchange platform incorporated a tailored “Ask the Expert 1:1” meeting feature, fostering personalized interactions. We produced, edited, and managed 27 impactful breakout and keynote sessions, culminating in a live studio closing session for an authentic feel. Our team also provided speaker training and facilitated dynamic live Q&A sessions to keep engagement high.

Additionally, we introduced Lanny, an interactive chatbot, enhancing engagement through activities like team trivia and digital surveys. The holistic approach transformed Exchange into a successful virtual event, surpassing attendance targets and facilitating global participation.
